Entry Instructions
The awards are open to individuals, teams, and organisations who meet the category criteria. Each individual may enter a maximum of three categories.
Categories
The Girls Human Rights Awards are designed to honour the outstanding achievements of girls and young women, people and organisations, who are making a significant impact in the field of human rights. These categories have been carefully crafted to celebrate the diversity of contributions being made across various sectors of human rights advocacy, with a special focus on girls' rights and empowerment. Each category has its own specific criteria to ensure that the contributions are evaluated based on their relevance, impact, and sustainability. We encourage you to carefully read the guidelines for each category and choose the one that best aligns with the achievements you or your team wish to showcase.
Supporting evidence
One piece of supporting evidence is permitted. However, remember that the judges are only likely to take this into account if they are impressed by the entry. It is possible to include HTML links in the online form. Please add as many as possible to support your statement.
Confidentiality
We may draw from you entry in order, for example, to highlight details of winning or highly commended entries. However, clearly marked confidential information will be respected.
Category selection
The organisers reserve the right to move entries to different categories if it is felt these are more appropriate.

This award recognises a girl who has made a significant impact through activism in advancing girls' human rights. She will have led or played a key role in campaigns, legal challenges, or grassroots movements that drive real change.
As this is a highly competitive category, entrants are advised to make an additional entry in another relevant category.

Community Awards

Open to GHRH Community university-based Mini Hubs.
This award celebrates a university Mini Hub that has shown outstanding leadership, activism, and impact in advancing girls’ human rights. The winning Mini Hub will have demonstrated:
Strong student engagement in human rights initiatives.
Successful advocacy or campaign efforts that have raised awareness or led to tangible change.
Innovative fundraising and sustainability strategies to support the GHRH mission.
Collaboration with local and global networks to expand its reach and influence.
As this is a competitive category, Mini Hubs are encouraged to provide clear examples of their impact, including projects, partnerships, and measurable outcomes.

This award celebrates a school Mini Hub that has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and impact in advancing girls’ human rights. The winning Hub will have:
Engaged and mobilized students in meaningful conversations and activism.
Led a successful campaign or project promoting girls’ rights.
Effectively fundraised to support GHRH initiatives (£500+ per year target).
Built strong partnerships with teachers, local organisations, or the wider community.

This award honours a Campus Ambassador who has gone above and beyond in driving the GHRH mission forward. The winner will have:

Actively grown their Mini Hub’s reach and influence.
Built connections between the GHRH Community and external stakeholders.
